CONDITIONS AND GUEST MANUAL ESPEDALSTUEN

CONDITIONS:

Espedalstuen is our private cabin that we hold dear, and we expect our guests to treat both the cabin and our belongings with respect. Many of the items are very old and have been inherited through many generations, making them of sentimental value. The furnishings are also old, and the cabin is not a place for parties or wild play. We welcome guests who appreciate the tranquil atmosphere and historical setting that Espedalstuen can offer.

We have some rules that the person placing the order is obliged to familiarize themselves with and communicate to any others in the travel party. By placing an order, you also accept our house rules and instructions.

Number of guests: There are 8 sleeping places in the cabin, but we do not rent out to more than 6 people. This is because the cabin simply does not accommodate more for various reasons. The number of guests must always be agreed upon.

Bedding and towels: Bedding and towels must be brought unless otherwise agreed. If rented, used bed linens/towel should never be washed by the guest. Hand towels and a shower mat for the bathroom are available in the cabinet in the bathroom, and kitchen towels and cloths can be found in the drawers in the kitchen.

Fireplace and candles: The fireplace should not be used on the day of departure. Upon departure, coal and ashes should be swept out and disposed of in the ash bin (located outside the entrance door), and the lid should be closed. There should be no embers in the ash. Candles should only be used in the candleholders and trays that are placed out and only in the living room and kitchen.

Animals: Unfortunately, it is usually not allowed to bring pets as we have had bad experiences with this. Exceptions CAN be made if it is a long time until allergic family members are going to visit the cabin, but it must always be agreed upon.

Firewood: Firewood is not included in the rent. You find some by the fireplace, but this should be replenished to the same amount as used. Firewood can be purchased either at the gas station or at Kiwi down in Bø.

Bonfire: Bonfire in the garden is not allowed. However, there is a charcoal grill available for use.

Private belongings: In the old cupboard in the master bedroom, our private belongings are stored and should not be opened unless agreed upon. The same applies to the dresser under the TV.

GUEST MANUAL:

Fire extinguishers and smoke detectors: There are two fire extinguishers; one in the hallway between the bedrooms and one behind the door in the kitchen. Check smoke detectors upon arrival. New batteries are available in the small drawers in the kitchen. A fire blanket hangs behind the kitchen door above the fire extinguisher in the kitchen.

Motorized bed: The double bed in the master bedroom has a motor. Currently, it is out of order and not to be played with. It is also important that children do not jump on this bed.

Trash: Trash should be thrown into the blue container located behind the hotel in the parking lot or in the parking lot right in front of the hotel. Unfortunately, there is currently no recycling solution here, but we hope it will be implemented in the future!

Uninsulated hallway: The corridor and the upper hallway are not insulated, so it's wise to bring slippers or thick woolen socks. If it's below freezing outside, it almost be similarly cold here, so make sure to keep the doors closed when it's cold.

Games, maps, and brochures: There are various board games in the cabinet between the beds in the living room. Please make sure to keep the games organized so they are ready for the next person using the cabin. Maps and miscellaneous brochures are located on the dresser under the TV.

Garden furnitures: The garden furniture is outside, and the cushions for the outdoor chairs are in the storage room under the stairs.

Heated water: The heated water is very hot! This is to ensure that there is enough water for several people to shower one after another. Be sure to inform children and do not let young children shower on their own without monitoring the water temperature.

Bathroom fan: Remember to turn on the fan when showering and let it run for a while after showering - switch located near the light switch.

DEPARTURE INSTRUCTIONSmust be followed unless otherwise agreed.

•    The house should be in proper condition, with tidy beds and sofa, as well as wiped-down tables and kitchen countertops.

•    Place used kitchen towels and cloths on the floor near the washing machine, keeping a good distance from the oven. Wet towels should be hung up on a drying rack or hooks in the ceiling in the laundry room.

•    Electric panel heaters with thermostats (both upstairs bedrooms, upstairs hallway, and kitchen) should be set to 10 degrees Celsius. The thermostat in the bathroom should be set to 15 degrees Celsius. In the WC, set the heater to half a watt and to 2 (the heater should be connected via the smart plug - IMPORTANT!

•    Make sure that the heat pump in the living room is turned on.

•    Leave both the doors to the bathroom and toilet slightly ajar.

•    Turn off the water supply to the washing machine.

•    The dishwasher should be finished by departure and turned off.

•    Unplug the kettle, toaster, and coffee maker (and empty the filter for the coffee maker!).

•    If you don't want to bring all the food when leaving, check with us to see you can leave it in the refrigerator until the next person arrives.

•    Take out the garbage from the kitchen, bathroom, and toilet.

•    Turn off all lights, except the outdoor lights.

•    If anything has been broken or damaged in any way during your stay, we would like to know so that we can take care of it before the next arrival.

•    Close the hook/latch on the outside of the kitchen door – IMPORTANT, as the door easily slides open and it can then get too cold inside.

•    Let us know when you're leaving so we can set the alarm, or you can set it yourself by holding the white star tag next to the Verisure control panel in the cone under the stairs.

• Lock the door with the lock button, put the key card back in the key box and spin the code.
